This is the documentation for using Flipper with spreadsheet programs.
Several options can be set to make spreadsheet programs easier to use.
Automatic Lightbar Mode should be on, that will have Flipper read cell by
cell when you are moving around the spreadsheet, and switch to reading
letter by letter when you are editing a cell's contents. Automatic Lightbar
mode is toggled with Control Function key 4. In addition, for Lotus 123,
you need to turn on hardware cursor, Alt function key 9, but this is
not necessary for most other spreadsheets.
It is also useful to set alt number key blocks for the cell address,
for example, B10, the cell formula, and the menu line, so they can be read
quickly and easily. For Lotus the cell address is in the upper left corner,
the current cell's contents are on the rest of line 1, line 2 is the menu line
and line 3 explains more about the current menu items. These items are in
lines 22 and 23 in VP-planner.
Another useful feature is the backslash command. This allows you to have
Flipper watch the status indicator and read it when it changes. The status
indicator, which is in the upper right corner for Lotus, indicates ready,
wait, etc. The underscore command can be used to read the current menu
item, which is highlighted with inverse video.
